The Akron Municipal Court has installed a Little Free Library book sharing box in front of the Harold K. Stubbs Justice Center on High Street in Downtown Akron
. The project was fully funded with a generous donation from the Akron Host Lions Club. A formal ribbon cutting will take place rain or shine on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
Little Free Library book sharing boxes promote literacy while increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds. Individuals can donate new or used books by placing them in the book sharing box and books can be taken from the box at no cost.
“Having a Little Free Library outside our building will encourage a love of reading and education for people of all ages,” said Akron Municipal Court Administrative/Presiding Judge Nicole Walker. “The Little Free Library is one of the many ways we serve our community in an innovative fashion. We are grateful for the Akron Host Lions Club and those who have donated materials already.”
“We are thrilled to be a part of this endeavor,” said Akron Host Lions Club President Nancy Null and Akron Host Lions Club Secretary James Stein. “This project will serve others in Akron in a unique way and it certainly aligns with our mission.”
